Hayley Ramsey appears in January 2009 and immediately bumps heads with Michaela McQueen, Michaela thinks Zak is sleeping with her but Hayley reveals herself as Zak's sister. She sleeps with Archie Carpenter, she is angy with Zak when she discovers he payed Elliot Bevan to go on a date with her.

Later, she gets a date with Rhys Ashworth but when he discovers she's in a wheelchair he doesn't show up, Hayley joins a band called "The Somethings" she and Rhys argue, Josh Ashworth tells them to sort it out or they must both leave the band a bit later Josh and Kris Fisher find them kissing and undressing, The band are approached by a manager and Josh fires Hayley wrongly believing the manager dislikes Hayley due to her disability.

She and Rhys finally get together then Hayley starts to have feelings for Rhys' brother Josh, Hayley dumps Rhys citing her reasons as Rhys moving things too fast. She remains in the student halls soon joined by new students Dave Coburn, India Longford, Charlotte Lau and Josh. She and India don't hit it off and play pranks on each other including spiking India's food with laxatives causing herself to soil herself in a competition held by Neville Ashworth to win a car despite massive embarrasment and teasing from Hayley, although the two do put their differences behind them

Hayley returns after a Christmas break and is 5 months pregnant, she tells Rhys and Josh neither of them are the father. Hayley then leaves the village to go and live with her family. She later gives birth to a baby boy named Caleb after her brother who died in Afghanistan

In 2010 it was reported that Hayley was to return to Hollyoaks, however, for some reason her return never happened

What did you think of Hayley's character?

I loved Hayley but at times she annoyed me
Wish she and Zak would return!
I have my dream castlist and most of the current actors in Hollyoaks aren't there

I liked Hayley up until the point she bullied India. Think her and Zak would be great additions to bring back. I would like to see Hayley back with Rhys' baby! That would certainly give a blow to Jacqui and Rhys considering Jacqui can't have her own kids and would be a good spanner in the works I think. Out of that era of students Hayley was certainly one of my faves.

She was a pretty girl but she really did grate on me, the ways he always spoke with her tongue sticking out, it's just a pity she didn't go around calling everyone "queen" or saying "boss" or "bizzies"

Always wondered why her rumoured return was to take place after Zak's departure...amd more to the point why it didn't happen

Yeah it seems odd as even Kelly thought she was coming back until it got pulled. She would fit back in easily even if it was just a temp thing to tell Rhys the baby was his and it would shake things up with Rhys too. If Zak was back then even better she could come visit him and Zak could even know the father was Rhys and spill the beans.
