Hollyoaks favourite Nicole Barber-Lane has said she's happy the McQueen family became such well-loved characters by the time she left.
Nicole, who has played the troublesome family's formidable matriarch Myra McQueen for seven years, will bow out of the Channel 4 soap in September and has already filmed her final scenes.
She said: "It's crazy, when we first started nobody knew how things would go and I certainly didn't. I was worried whether I'd still be there in six months, 12 months.
"I was always worried about whether you're staying, whether you're not staying, what's happening, but [the McQueens] are quite ingrained in Hollyoaks and I think that as a whole we've been very lucky to get some great storylines."
Nicole also said she was glad that producer Bryan Kirkwood, who introduced the family but left to work on EastEnders for a while, was back to oversee her exit.
She said: "Bryan Kirkwood introduced the family and I'm so happy that it was Bryan that saw me out. I just feel really lucky, really blessed."
Nicole's final scenes as Myra will play out on Hollyoaks from September 2 2013.
