Debbie Dean arrived in 2002 with her mother, Frankie father, Jonno brothers, Jake and Craig and sister, Steph, upon her arrival she fell for mechanic Dan Hunter and the two began to date. Debbie worked for Tony at ll Gnosh but her dream was to become a singer

Debbie went on a reality TV show and revealed that Dan lost his virginity to her leaving Dan furious with her, Dan had problems of his own as he was arrested as a suspect in the serial killer(Toby Mills) case, Debbie stuck by him throughout his ordeal, matters were made worse when Dan was arrested for the murder of the real killer Toby, in saving his sister, Ellie Mills Dan fought with Toby with the latter falling off the roof of a building. Ellie had claimed Dan had killed Toby. Debbie found it hard to come to terms with Dan's imprisonment, he was sent to prison for 18 years leaving Debbie devastated, she would attempt to visit Dan who would end their relationship. Confused and heartbroken Debbie turned to Darren Osborne for support and the pair had a brief relationship.

Debbie was delighted when Ellie told the truth and Dan was released but Dan shocked her by telling her there would be no relationship between the two, with help from her family Debbie put things behind her and tried to move on, however, things got complicated when Dan started dating Debbie's sister, Steph. The relationship didn't last long as Dan told Debbie he still loved her but Debbie said she couldn't date Dan as it would upset Steph.

Debbie got her wish to be a singer with a job on a cruise ship in November 2004 at this time her parents marriage ended and Jonno decided to leave Hollyoaks, Debbie was unsure as if to go but with the support of Frankie, Jake and Dan Debbie decided to accept the job.

Tragedy struck for Debbie as Dan was killed when his rally car exploded after a race two days before Christmas, Debbie was crushed, she collapsed in tears when she found an engagement ring Dan was planning to give her on Christmas day. Debbie decided to live her life and to do something worthwhile in honour of Dan's memory she stayed for Dan's funeral regretting she and him couldn't of ever been together. Debbie found it hard to leave the village but after speaking to Dan's best friend, Ben Davies was convinced by him that Dan would of wanted her to take this job
so after her goodbyes she set sail and left Hollyoaks

Debbie returned in 2005 for the double wedding of her mother, Frankie to Jack Osborne and brother Jake's marriage to Becca Hayton

In 2006 she returned to re-open The Dog In The Pond after it was blown up by Sam Owen. She had a job in the West End but lost it when Steph became famous for her expose of Joe Jones

In April 2007 Jake told Frankie that Debbie had broken her leg in a car accident

In December 2010 Frankie tells Duncan that the Deans/Osbornes were going to be spending Christmas with Debbie.

What did you think of Debbie's character? Would you like her to make another cameo?

One of my fave characters of all time. She made a huge impact and was a very popular character. Loved her relationship with Dan they belonged together, was so gutted when Dan died. Would love to hear an update on Debbies character and would certainly welcome a return but don't think it would be possible as she has just had a baby. However down the line if the actress wanted to I would certainly be for it. Be good to see her interact with Esther and for them to bond a little.

Previously I had thought she would have been a good character to recast if Jodi didn't want to nor would ever return.

Great character and stunning looks Debbie was a big loss to Hollyoaks, had wondered myself if a recast could work but I don't know if anyone could follow in Jodi Albert's footsteps. I too was gutted when Dan died, as he(along with Ben and Jake) were my favourite male characters

I think Frankie and Jack are in HO for the long run so if she did want to go back for a few episodes she has links to the village

I think a re-cast would be very hit/miss they would have to get it bang on for it to work. Then again looking at previous recast characters they have been huge hits (Darren, Clare, Max) just to name a few.

I think if they asked Jodi and she said she wasn't interested in returning then yeah go ahead and recast just on a temp basis and see what reception she gets.

How old would Debbie be 27 ish?

It is hard to pick someone good but isn't that well known. I think having a huge name wouldn't be as good as picking someone who is fairly new to the acting stuff. I could see Roxy doing it but I think Adele will always be Kelly Windsor no matter what she is in. Shall have to have a think to see if I can think of anyone...most actresses I can think of would play a good Debbie of old but not a 27 year old (or whatever she would be now).
