I would go for a dress code. But i just want to feel comfortable and not paranoid. Our school uniforms look like binbags. most unflattering things, ever.

Does anyone have to wear like brown or purple strange uniform colours? I think Black, Navy and Blue are popular normal choices for schools but have seen some rather odd colours which look awful.

One school I know has yellow. Mines bright blue. Not so attractive on a bad day. Not so flattering either...

my school uniform and rules were: black skirt or trousers black v neck cardigan or jumper with school logo (if it didnt have the logo you were made to take it off) heels with a heel of no more than 3 inches (our head teacher used to roam the halls and actually measure the heels of your shoes!!) black or white socks or flesh or black tights white shirt and year colour tie (mine was purple) you wasnt allowed to wear a coat inside the school, so had to remove it before stepping foot inside no jewellery except for 1 pair of studded earrings, 1 signet ring and a watch no make-up was allowed until year 10
then our uniform for pe was: inside: trainers white socks short sleeved white t-shirt black shorts or skirt swimming costume had tobe a one piece
outside: trainers white short sleeved t-shirt black shorts or skirt red knee length hockey socks
as for hair it had to be neat and tidy, long hair had to be tied back during PE and youwasnt allowed to have your hair dyed an extreme colour and you couldnt have any extreme hair cuts either

I remember teachers making everyone take coats off inside the classroom when it was freezing cold (scarfs too) yet the teachers desk was always conviently right by the radiators!
In PE outside they made the girls wear short pe skirts regardless of the weather but as loads complained they changed the rules to allow trackies etc. Trainers had to have a white sole so it wouldn't damage the floor...yet teachers walked on it with black soles.
Did anyone have any trends in school? We had a few...are any still going?! Lol
Swot Knots - Ties with huge knots in them where considered teachers pet types so everyone would pull their tie so tight to make the smallest knot ever. However now I have seen school kids with huge knots so maybe the opposite is in effect now?
Tram Lines - Pull random strands out of your tie which left a line -------- in your tie...this was deemed super cool lol.
Wearing Multi coloured socks Black, White and Navy where the only sock colours allowed so the rebels would wear spotted, striped multi coloured ones.
Pop socks This only lasted a year or so but most people would wear popsocks rather than normal socks as it was deemed sexier..
