Hey everyone!
I am a second year student at Farnborough Sixth Form studying Media and I love watching Hollyoaks every night on C4, but i have noticed that the sexaul content in hollyoaks is quite high as it is shown so early int he evening...does anyone else think this is true? and why?

any comments would be welcome

I do think that Hollyoaks is one of the more 'risky' soaps, when it comes to what they can do before the watershed, not just with sexual content, but with content in general. It's been showing alot more lately & I think sometimes, it tends to get rather uncomfortable to watch (I.e: Ste being attacked by his step father, in slow motion, which didn't help matters.)

I think it's done because Hollyoaks tends to have a very 'childish' image about it, it's looked down upon by those that don't watch on a regular basis, hense the raunchier storylines to try and play it off as a better & bigger soap than the likes of Eastenders/Corrie. I personally dont think they NEED to show content in such a graphic way, but it's being done.

That's why I love it not for the scenes bt they push boundaries and are more daring than otehrs

I like how Hollyoaks are risky and daring.
However I do agree that some scenes are rather uncomfortable to watch, yes.
Although it does deal with many problems faced by teenagers and young people today which is probably why they tend to show more risky scenes. As it adds to the realism of the soap.

They are risky and daring. if my mum comes in and they are doing a rather rude scene she goes "should that be on at this time" i like as it highlights the every day problems like teen pregnancy(amy's) joy-riding
